1711 Solomon Grimly Sr, Maria’s Grandfather, born in Switzerland.
1734 Solomon Grimly Sr. (23 yo) purchased 99 acres along the East Branch of the Perkiomen.
1750 Solomon Grimly Sr. (39 yo) died. He and Anna Lapp had four children.
1763 Maria Grimly born
1777 Continental Army encampment on and around the Grimly farm. (Maria 14yo)
1846 Solomon K. Grimly asked his Grandmother, Maria (83yo), to write down her recollections.
1848 Maria Grimly Keely died (85yo)
1879 Solomon K. Grimly (55yo) recopied his grandmother’s recollections.
2017 His copy of Maria Grimly Keely’s recollections found in a box of her grandson’s papers, 240 years after she witnessed the encampment. Transcribed by Alan Keyser and published in the Goschenhoppen Historian’s newsletter.
